The Home Buyer Tax Credit has been extended. The full $8000 credit is available to first time home buyers who enter into a contract by April 30th 2010 and close no later than June 30th 2010. In addition, the income limits for buyers has been raised to $125,000 for individuals and $225,000 for couples.

Even better news is that existing home owners, who have been in their current home for at least 5 years, are now elligible for a $6500 buyer tax credit with the same time frames and income limits as above. All buyers must attach proof of purchase to tax return.
